What is the Big Freeze?

The Big Freeze is FightMND’s largest fundraising campaign, raising vital funds for MND research and projects supporting those living with MND
On 9 June 2025, the MCG will be flooded with blue Beanies as brave celebrities take the plunge into Australia’s coldest ice bath. And we’re not stopping there! We’re freezing the nation with State Freeze events in South Australia and Western Australia!
Our Big Freeze 11 page has more information about what’s happening this year.
Stay tuned to our Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn accounts for the latest news about Big Freeze 11!

What impact does purchasing a Beanie have on the fight against MND?

A Big Freeze 11 Beanie does more than keep your head warm. It’s a symbol of hope in the fight against MND. Every Beanie sold powers ground-breaking research and supports those living with the disease.
$50 (2 Beanies): helps researchers drive forward new MND discoveries.
$150 (6 Beanies): funds efforts to uncover the causes of MND, moving us closer to preventing or delaying the disease.

What progress has been made in the fight against MND?

FightMND has invested nearly $115 million into research and care projects, driving progress in the fight against MND and supporting Australians impacted by this devastating disease.
