Applications are now open for 2 PhD scholarships and grants-in-aid opportunities. These will support the training of 2 graduate students completing a PhD qualification in the field of motor neurone disease (MND).
About
At FightMND we’re committed to supporting researchers fighting against the Beast that is MND. In pursuit of this, we’re supporting 2 scholarship and grant-in-aid opportunities in 2025. These aim to provide support to early career researchers as they work towards their PhD and complete research into the causes, treatments or care of people with MND.
Two scholarships are available:
Angie Cunningham biomedical PhD scholarship and grant-in-aid for basic and translational science
This scholarship and grant-in-aid is awarded to a novel and innovative project in the field of MND. The project must focus on either understanding the causes of MND, elucidating disease mechanisms and/or tackling one, or more, key issues contributing to the lack of effective treatments for MND.
MND care PhD scholarship and grant-in-aid
This scholarship and grant-in-aid is awarded to novel and innovative projects focusing on determining and improving best-practice care for people living with MND. Projects must demonstrate how outcomes will lead to advancements in MND care research, and to improve quality of life for people living with MND, their carers, and families.
